209 | tattered and torn

The lesson tonight was about organisation and always having your gear ready. It was late and rain was forecast. I wanted to do a long exposure in between showers. I decided where and when I was going to shoot with some help from a new iPad app called Light Trac which shows how the moon/ sun will line up with a Google map. I guessed that it would probably be too cloudy to get another shot of a moonlit canal but then again I could have been lucky with a break in the clouds.

Camera? Check. CF card empty? Check. Battery full? Check. Tripod? Check. Tripod camera mount? Check. Remote Switch? Huh? Spent time looking in vain for it and in the end decided that I needed to leave and I would just have to make do with the timer mode.

In the end the cloud cover remained unbroken and rain showers made me reluctant to set up the tripod.

Fortunately there is no shortage of bikes to photograph around here.

Great bike image but look at all of the beautiful bokeh (which I imagine is from lights) in the background. Those lights make this image for me just beautiful.

I really like this. But then I like shooting stuff like this as well. The sparkly bokeh is really nice.
