I love night photography. Almost half of my "365" photos taken in the first years have been taken at night and there is good reason for this: I live in the northern hemisphere where the winters are dark and I have a corporate job which keeps me busy during daylight hours.
It's also my favourite time to shoot and in 2010 I decided that I wanted to really explore this genre of photography, so I set myself the challenge of shooting a photo a night: Low light, long exposures and wide aperture hand-held shots, and on occasion I reluctantly carried a tripod.
It was tougher than I had expected.
It was very rewarding and I learnt a lot.
I got all 365 shots - OK one was technically shot 6 minutes before dusk but it was late in the middle of the summer and the light did not change much in those 6 minutes.
I am currently in the process of curating the project and I will select my best shots which will be displayed in a separate gallery to make it easier to navigate.
